PARTY LIKE A STYLE STAR: The ‘rock chick’ party look!!!

Hey Everyone!!! Hope you had a fab weekend, didn’t know how to make anything out of mine…it was just there, no spark, no nothing...two or is it three days of nothing to tell a tale about…hmmnnn…anyway, there is an element I have been dying to add to this blog, and I am happy that it will be coming on sooner than I expected…would love to gush about it, because I am extremely excited...but there is nothing better than a surprise…so I say to you, my fashion fabulous readers…read on!

Ok! Back to the party like a style star series…..Today is all about the ‘rock chick’. To achieve anything in life, big or small, you need to make an effort…Most people who are dressed rather distastefully make no effort at all when it comes to their look, although I know looks can be deceiving so they can’t help but be a ‘hot mess’.. Lol…once in a while but…that is their own wahala….another day…another post…

The whole idea behind the ‘rock chick’ look is to eliminate the effort factor of a look to judging eyes….In other words, It is sexily nonchalant…looking cool as if you didn’t even make any effort at all. Even if you spent hours thinking of how to match the pieces together, no one’s has got to know, the trick my dears is to fake it with fashion!

It is all about the laid –back attitude with this look, and it is most suitable for ladies with a fiery edge and a restless rocker spirit! The great thing about this look is that you can afford to play with your make-up…you could do a modern line (to know how to, refer back to my post on the 12 fashionable gifts for Christmas) and glam up your look with smoky kohl eyes and dark nail polish.

MISS NFF’S TIP TO PULL OFF THE ‘ROCK CHICK’

With this look there is no right or wrong way to wear a particular clothing item…wait a minute… what I mean by this is that you can afford to break some rules; for instance, a dress with a plunging neck line can be reversed and worn backwards…to give a bare back…so get creative yall...that scarf that has been lying around in your closet could serve you a fashionable ticket to your next night out with the girls!

That’s all folks; the rest from the ‘party like a style star’ series will come….so check on me regularly. Have a fashion fabulous rest of the week…need advice it is naijafashionfreak@gmail.com.

PARTY LIKE A STYLE STAR: The ‘cling’ party look!

Hey! Thank God it is the weekend!...At the beginning of each week, I always look forward to the end, so I know the year is going by and I am getting closer to the ‘D DAY’...when is this day? And why I am looking forward to it...tune in to find out! If I were you, I wouldn’t pay me any attention at all...lol… I am in my own world I tell you!

OK! It is back to partying like a style star….and today is all about body hugging, tummy tucked in, thighs touching, skin tight clothes all for the sake of looking fabulous at a party! Na real wahala! A girl has to do what a girl has to do…right???

The ‘cling’ look is a party fav even amongst celebrities…ever wonder why Herve Leger dresses are everywhere?...well...I guess we feel the need to deny our body of breathing space once in a while…

This look is about hugging the body without looking CHEAP! It is super sexy but in a cool and commanding way! Like I have got it and so I will flaunt it…my curves that is! This look plays along particular textures…like silk, Lycra, polyester…you know, the likes! A straight forward way to pull off this look is to wear the ‘bodycon’ dress.

The ‘cling’ makes you feel elegant and feminine and the good thing about it is it shows what you have even if you aint got the ‘Beyonce bod’ ‘with… curves in all the right places…..big girls you are beautiful!’… Mika I am a fan!

When you want to feel all glammed up and womanly, the ‘cling’ is the way to go!

MISS NFF’S TIP TO PULL OF THE ‘CLING’
In order to avoid looking like a huchi mama; all too cheap and hellishly trashy! I advice that you dress down in order areas. Keep your hair nice and soft, dress it down, leave it down! And as far as your make-up goes…minimal…is the key word here! And darlings, learn to create drama underneath those garments…in order words...wear Slim-Cognito seamless mid-thigh bodysuit , spank it on...for a super fine finish…this way it keeps your lady lumps all sealed up!

That’s all folks; the rest from the ‘party like a style star’ series will come….so check on me regularly. Have a fashion fabulous rest of the weekend…need advice it is naijafashionfreak@gmail.com

PARTY LIKE A STYLE STAR: The ‘Slick chic’ party look!!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend…took time out to rest your arching feet and I hope the week is going all well and dandy! This week, I decided to dedicate it to ME, yes! My fashion fabulous self (I wish!) …lol…So I am indulging in myself and what better way to do so than to Shop! Shop! Shop! I have my eye on a particular bag, spotted it yesterday, dreamt of it, and I have to get it by any means possible before the week runs out. In addition, I decided to nurture my love for all things vintage and bought this 60’s inspired sunglasses. Yes! I did...and it was pretty cheap! Anyway, away from me and on to the topic of the day!
I love to party… everybody does...make love...listen to the music…blah blah blah…just remembered that song in this instant…anyway, the ‘Party like a style star’ series is all about various party looks; I love to go to a party and be amazed with the display of the different looks people create for the occasion rather than seeing every one dressed alike….so here is how you can adopt the ‘slick chic’ look. Enjoy!

There is no one look synonymous to the word ‘sexy’. In the words of naijafashionfreak ‘Sexy comes in different shapes, sizes and looks’. A tuxedo offers a different way to be sexy without the need to show your skin. One great advantage that comes with being a proud owner of a tux is in it being a versatile piece of clothing. It can be worn to a variety of nights out and parties; pair it up with black jeans, it can be worn to a casual get together, with a pair of cotton-mix trousers and it can be worn to a black tie event.

The tuxedo is the clothing item which defines the ‘slick chic’ look. This look opts for tailoring and cleanness, no fuss and certainly no frills! It is well suited for ladies who want to enhance their femininity in a very subtly and alluring manner, one that isn’t too obvious.

MISS NFF’S TIP TO PULL OF BEING ‘SLICK CHIC’ :
One has to be careful, not to over-do the look. When this look is on the catwalk, the bow is usually around the collar of the shirt; however, I will advice that you ditch this as this may not really translate well outside runway shows, so instead wear a Dicky bow on your bag or in your hair!

That’s all folks; the rest from the ‘party like a style star’ series will come….so check on me regularly, thanks to all my readers, you make me tick! You can’t imagine! Have a fabulous rest of the week…need advice it is naijafashionfreak@gmail.com.

MAN DAY PLUS+ A WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF!!!!!!!!!

Hey! I haven’t blogged all week…yes I know! Been pretty pre-occupied. So I am going to bombard you with more than just one article.

First and foremost, I will like to use this medium to inform you all that the new issue of confidence magazine is out. The magazine is very multi-cultural; it features columnists from around the globe and articles about various fashion industries, including the Nigerian…yes! You can go check it out at
http://www.confidencemagazine.co.uk/

Anyway, I said I was going to do a man day and am not going to talk about Fashion…I am not in the mood, to be sincere I was a bit de-motivated when I read an article which said that men do not dress for fashion, they dress to belong, for comfort and for life (although I am certain that there are exemptions) …..So, I said to myself…ok! No fashion…just post an article on how men can improve their relationships with their partners…yeah...like I know???...right???...lol.., but I will do a fashion article which will focus on what to look for when going for a casual suit, a formal suit…etc.

Ok! guys ….there is nothing a girl likes more than a spontaneous gift. It should be the premiere weapon in your armour against the vagaries of that absurd, random, unknown quantity-the female mind! Want your girlfriend to be putty in your arms then read on……………….

When she is feeling ugly a facial at Beauty Concerns
When she’s really unimpressed with you some very expensive silk lingerie
When she has got nothing to wear….anything...anything….from Deola Sagoes’ prĂȘt a porter collection.
When you have been boring lately…a pair of tickets to watch a chick-flick movie she has been dying to see
When things have been boring lately….A weekend at La campagne Tropicana
When you feel like indulging her baser girlie instincts…throw pillows from Jewel by Lisa home store
When you’ve been neglecting her... Afternoon tea with champagne at the poshest hotel in town.
When it’s her birthday... a homemade wittily annotated album of the last year’s photographs
When the urban life gets her down…. A weekend at Obudu cattle ranch
When you just really love her Rocks (the big sparkly ones, the biggest you can afford)
When you’ve got no reason at all Cupcakes from her favourite pastry shop

And now back to fashion…..One of the notable fashion weeks which we all look forward to is the Milan fashion week. A lot of great designers hail from Italy and Italians are known to be very fashionable people…so here are hits ladies and gentlemen into getting the essence of Italian style…

1) THE HOURGLASS DRESS- knee-length and belted, but never quite demure

2) NARROW, DARK COLOURED TIE- The perfect complement to a great white shirt

3) FRESHLY LAUNDERED BLUE DENIM JEANS- Mama-(not stone) -washed, and perfectly pressed

4) LEATHER BELT-No belt loop should be left unfilled

5) LOAFERS- Worn with silk socks or bare feet

4) NEAT HAIRCUT

5) SUNGLASSES- Chunky frame, dark lenses and worn anytime, any place

6) CRISP COTTON SHIRT- Cutaway collar, contoured fit, embroidered monogram and about half a can of Robin Starch...lol…

7) JEWELERY- Crosses, chains and trinkets to personalise every fashion look with a statement of faith!

The strangest thing happened…well, an anonymous reader claims to know my real identity, decided to post her comment..so you’ll see for yourself;

‘Yeah yeah..the dress didn't look nice on her.... everyone has their off days...funny thing is that i happen to know this naijafashionfreak and she is about the worse dresser on earth. Where on earth does she get off handing down fashion tips??? lol..this is the joke of the century. errr....fashionfreak b4 ur previous job weren't u a messy mess dresser. Weren't u tushed up by ur generous boss...my dear give other people a chance to wake up from their messy mess dressing Slumber. Just the way we gave u a chance. We didn't run u out of Lagos in spite of ur attempts to commit murder on several occasions. Be easy on them.Have a heart...Fashion freak indeed.NaijaFashiondisaster u mean...lol lol’

Well…I knew some drama was coming sooner or later…me being a fashion police and all…dishing out my outrageous comments…giving out tough love...so….anyway, this is hilarious! All I have to say is…you think you know…but you have no idea!

That’s all folks…. I am working on a party series, which will showcase different looks one can adopt for a party and identify what each look represents and how they can be pulled off….so yes! I have a busy weekend…hope you all have a fashion fabulous weekend…if u need advice…It is naijafashionfreak@gmail.com
